On a Saturday morning in August 1998, a car was parked in Omagh's high street. In the afternoon, the explosives packed inside the vehicle detonated. Kevin Fulton had infiltrated the IRA on behalf of Special Branch and was told of the planned attack. When he handed the information to his handlers, it was ignored. «
