Dit boek is bestemd voor studenten Bewegingswetenschappen. Het leert hen bij metingen de juiste procedures toe te passen en de resultaten daarvan op systematische wijze te bewerken en te analyseren. De eerste hoofdstukken zijn theoretisch van aard en gaan in op correlatiefuncties, Fourier-analyse en systeemtheorie. Een aantal digitale technieken wordt behandeld en relevante delen uit de elektronica zijn als bijlage toegevoegd. Daarna volgt een hoofdstuk over ijken, kalibreren en foutenberekening. Twee uitgebreide hoofdstukken over het meten van kracht en versnellingen en over bewegingsregistratie completeren het boek. Aan het eind van elk hoofdstuk wordt een aantal opgaven geformuleerd, waarvan de uitwerkingen achterin zijn opgenomen.Dr Gert de Groot (1947) is universitair hoofddocent Onderzoeksmethoden en -technieken bij de Faculteit Bewegingswetenschappen van de Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. Dr Andreas Daffertshofer (1965) is universitair hoofddocent bij dezelfde faculteit. Hun jarenlange ervaring met de lesstof heeft geresulteerd in een deze helder opgezette introductie. «
