Book
'The Metapolis Dictionary of Advanced Architecture' was conceived, in its Spanish version, in june 2000, as a document-manifesto of action at MET 2.0: Tráiler de ideas para una Arquitectura Avanzada. On that occasion, fifty teams of Spanish architects met in Barcelona for the purpose of formulating a joint approach to strategic themes of the future regarding habitat, the city and the environment. The material gathered there led to the idea of creating a publication in a format which would permit crossing, overlapping and associating projects, themes and potentials, beyond individual conceptions and hermetic compartments.
THIS INTERNATIONAL VERSION, more complete, extensive and diversified in its contents, allows the themes initially adressed to be enriched and dealt with in greater detail. The intention with this edition is illustrate a more extensive and global territory of search defining what has come to be called 'Advanced Architecture', and which brings together transverse attitudes, ideas, concepts, techniques, terms, scenarios and environments which are in need of an appropriate framework of reference. «
