Wil Oosterveld woont inmiddels een aantal jaren in Griekenland en krijgt steeds beter door hoe hij moet overleven in de jungle van het dagelijks Grieks bestaan. Gewapend met zelfspot en een flinke voorraad passende Twentse uitdrukkingen doet hij in deze gebundelde reeks columns verslag van zijn wederwaardigheden.De teksten zijn erg grappig en de komische illustraties maken het geheel af. Voeg daarbij nog de perfect passende koppen - als oud-reclameman verloochent Oosterveld zijn vak niet - en een paar uurtjes schateren zijn gegarandeerd. Hij heeft naar eigen zeggen de volgende roeping: "het verkondigen van een enkel opbeurend woord, ontsproten aan mijn grofstoffelijk denkraam, bedoeld om hier en daar een kwinkslag op de kop te tikken teneinde zo goed mogelijk een glimlach op menig doorgroefd gelaat te doen verschijnen." Hij behandelt onder andere de volgende onderwerpen: Griekse mythologie en het oude Griekenland, geografie en klimaat, de Griek en het huidige Griekenland en het dagelijks leven.Eerder verschenen van hem het boek 'Een oliebol op Ikaria', een humoristisch verslag van een cursus Grieks ter voorbereiding op de landverhuizing en 'Jassas', een reeks gebundelde columns, goed voor menig gniffelmoment. Aan de herhaalde roep om een vervolg heeft hij gehoor gegeven in deze nieuwe reeks met als naam een welgemeende Griekse toast: Jamas, op uw gezondheid. «
