Book
Piezoelectric actuators are proving to be a reliable solution for manyengineering applications ranging from micropositioning machine tools opticdevices or modern microscopes to active control of structures. The mainmotivation of this work is to delve into models to represent the hystereticbehavior of piezoelectric actuators in order to apply them to the conception ofcontrollers for such hysteretic systems. A general study of piezoelectricactuators is performed to later deal with the modeling of such actuators. Dueto the high nonlinear behavior observed the problem of identifying andmodeling the actuator requires a hysteresis model. The BoucWen model has beenchosen and investigations to identify its parameters and to validate the modelhave been undertaken. Once the system has been identified a linear controllerhas been designed and implemented in a real platform employing a DigitalSignal Processor. «
