This edited collection provides a complete academic account of the fictions ofElizabeth Bowen 18991973 the most important AngloIrish novelist of the20th century. It covers Bowens life her family background and her writingcareer between London and North Cork. Of particular interest is her position asan AngloIrish writer and her centrality as a major novelist within thetraditions of 20th century writing within modernist literature and inparticular within modern Irish writing.
