The first screenplay collaboration by Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida, Away We Go follows a rootless couple on a road trip in search of a place they can call home.

Burt and Verona have a plan - move next to Burt's parents to raise their soon-to-be born child. But when grandpa and grandma get other ideas (like relocating to Belgium) the young couple hits the road in search of the perfect place to start their family.

Along the way, they have misadventures and find fresh connections with an assortment of relatives and old friends who just might help them discover what they're looking for.

Dave Eggers is the author of six books, including What Is the What and the upcoming nonfiction work Zeitoun. He is the founder and editor of McSweeney's and the co-founder of 826 National, a network of tutoring and writing labs for youth. With Spike Jonze he cowrote the screenplay to Where the Wild Things Are.

Vendela Vida is the author of three books, including the novels And Now You Can Go and Let the Northern Lights Erase Your Name - both of which were New York Times Notable Books of the Year. She is a founding co-editor of The Believer magazine, and the editor of The Believer Book of Writers Talking to Writers. «
