Alice Raikes boards a train at King's Cross to visit her family in Scotland. Hours later, she is lying in a coma at a London hospital, after an accident that may have been a suicide attempt. Drifting in and out of consciousness, Alice begins to recollect her past and a curtailed love affair. «
