Harty was born in Barre Massachusetts on February 26 1929an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed fishing and trapping and was passionate aboutsaving our environment. During one of my visits in 1999 we drove and meanderedaround his memory lanes of Barre. He stated Nothing has changed much from mychildhood memories with the exception of paved roads.
